Obituary of Irene Janacek Smock

Irene Janacek Smock Ago 90 Wall Irene Smock of Wall passed away peacefully at her home on Monday October 10,2016 Irene was born and raised in Union City before moving to Asbury Park. She also lived in Interlaken and Toms River finally moving to Wall. She graduated Asbury Park High School in 1944. Irene worked as a counter manager for the Estee Lauder Cosmetic Company at the Steinbach Company for 25 years before retiring. She was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband George A Smock Jr. “Red” of 57 years and her two sons Garrett Allen and John Randall. She was also predeceased by her parents Henry and Gertude Janacek and in-laws George and Dorothy Smock, William “Bill” and Kate Smock, Paul and Mary Dorothy Smock. Irene was also predeceased by her “family” of Friends: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Newman, Mr. and Mrs. Gorden Forsyth, Mrs. Mary Klein and her very dear life-long friend Eileen Miller of Connecticut. Irene is survived by her children: Wendy and her husband Howard Alan Schleich Sr. of Wall,N.J., Susan Lucarelli of Connecticut and Robert Stuart Smock and his wife Pat of Hawaii: grandchildren Carly and Casey Lucarelli and great-grandchildren Micheal and Carter; her extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews and a dear friend Mr. Ollie Klein. Irene loved to spend her summers at the beach swimming and she especially liked to visit Hawaii to see her sons Garrett, Robert and daughter-in-law Pat. Her greatest joy in life was to gather with friends and family, opening her home and heart to many over the years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Services will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, N.J 08562 on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 10:45 AM.
