Obituary of Maria Eleanor Demateis

DEMATEIS, Maria Eleanor, 84, of Manchester, formerly of Northvale, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016. Beloved mother of Maria Tietjen and her husband Bruce of Northvale, Albert Jr. and his wife Andrea of Mt. Dora, FL, Stephan and his wife Janet of Jackson and Cheryl Cramer of Bayville. Cherished grandmother of Jenna, Bruce, Joshua, Jessica, Danielle, Joseph, Anthony, David, Jill, Ryan, Grace and Rachel and great-grandmother of eleven. Maria was born in Union City, NJ to Joseph A. and Esther Grace Montin. She married Albert J. Demateis and they raised their 4 children in West New York, NJ and then in Northvale, NJ. Maria spent her latter years in Leisure Village West in Manchester, NJ, where she was very active in this senior community. She loved Leisure Village West and resided there until her death. A memorial mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church, 619 Chestnut St., Lakehurst, NJ on Saturday, January 21 at 10am.
