William Meiter Obituary

William Meiter Obituary

Bill passed away in the early evening hours of November 17, 2023

surrounded by his wife, children, close family and Pastor.

Bill was a Christian who was ready to go home and be with the Lord. He

had a very full life and was a constant source of useless and random facts

and information. His favorite phrase was “words mean things” and he

could tell you a story about someone he knew having to do with any and all

situations or circumstances. His favorite activities were shooting skeet

and sitting in his recliner with his glasses on “NOT SLEEPING”. Bill was an

avid fan of the New York Giants but only during games they won. If you

knew Bill you would know he preferred to be called Guillermo (Big Papi if

you were one of his grandkids).

He is predeceased by his mother and father William and Maxine Meiter.

Survived by his wife Susan, three children Sarah (husband Daniel), Samuel,

and Susannah. As well as two grandchildren August, Penelope, and one

granddaughter on the way due in February. His brother Michael (wife

Marlene), and an inexplicably large extended family that loved him very

much in spite of his big, pompous, and opinionated self.

Celebration of Life and the Airing of Grievances will be held on Saturday

November 25, 2023 at Village Lutheran Church in Lanoka Harbor at 10AM.

If you are unable to attend feel free to celebrate appropriately by taking a

shot of Tito’s and having a Slim Jim in his honor.
