Eleanor B. Zimmerman, of Greenbriar Oceanaire in Waretown, NJ, age 87, passed away suddenly on

March 14th, 2025.

Eleanor was born June 13th, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY to her late parents, Eugene & Frieda Bosch. She

attended Grover Cleveland High School graduating with honors, working as a legal secretary for a

number of companies, such as Sabena Airlines and Cushman & Wakefield, most recently for private law

firms before retiring.

Eleanor enjoyed traveling, gardening, decorating and making a beautiful home. Her garden was always

stunning -- full of flowers and so inviting - a natural green thumb. She had a flair for style and was an

incredible cook and baker just like her mom. She made the absolute “best” Christmas cookies that she’d

deliver to friends during the holidays. She was active in her community volunteering at Southern Ocean

Medical Center and on the Sunshine Committee in Greenbriar. She was a voracious reader and

completed the Sunday NY Times each and every week. She loved the company of her close friends

creating many memorable times going to plays, musical performances, exploring new restaurants,

playing mahjong, canasta and bunco parties and just laughing together. She was a true friend and a kind

and caring person. A classy lady -- a person to emulate.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband and dance partner, Hans Zimmermann. Surviving her are two

daughters, Deborah G. VonSchondorf of Long Branch, NJ and husband Phil; and Susan L. Ulrich of Rocky

Point, NY; stepson, Howard Zimmerman of Acworth, GA and wife Susan; and stepdaughter, Ann

Capolupo of Las Vegas, NV and her four wonderful grandchildren: Catherine, Nicholas, Christopher &

Wesley.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, March 24th , 2025 at 10:30 AM at Brigadier General

William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery Chapel (arrive 15 minutes early).
