Margaret "Peggy" Cardinale Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” Cardinale, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend,

passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at South Ocean County Hospital due to

complications from her long battle with cancer. She was 75.

Born on April 24, 1949, in Jersey City, NJ, Peggy grew up in Florham Park before

settling in Barnegat in 1975. In 1996, she moved to Murrells Inlet, SC, before eventually

returning to Barnegat in 2021 to be closer to her two sons and their families.

Peggy was known for her generosity, humor, and fierce love for those around her. She

was predeceased by her beloved parents, Jack and Peg Forrester; her first husband,

John Boyer; and her second husband, Andrew Cardinale.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Stephen Boyer (Sue Ellen),

John “Jack” Boyer (Nicole), and Shannon Cox (Boyer); her stepchildren, Sharon

Hadjimarkos and Andrew Cardinale Jr.; her grandchildren, Avery, Sydney, Isabelle,

Caroline, Casey, Camden, Teddy, Savannah, and Sidney; and her devoted sisters,

Maureen Kazelesky and Diane Schmaler. Peggy was also a beloved aunt to many

nieces and nephews.

A fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, Peggy found joy in life’s

everyday moments -- afternoons spent shopping and lunch with her girlfriends.

In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, the family will hold a celebration of her life at a later

date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research

Hospital in her memory.

Peggy’s unwavering love and devotion to her family will forever live on in the hearts of

her loved ones and all who were blessed to have known her. She will be deeply missed

and lovingly remembered.
