In Loving Memory of Keith Patrick Calloway-Salazar “The Don” March 1, 2000 – April 6, 2025 We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Keith Calloway-Salazar “The Don”, who left us far too soon at the age of 25. Born March 1, 2000, in Colquitt Georgia, Keith Patrick Calloway-Salazar brought love, light, laughter, and music into the lives of everyone who knew him. He was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and an infectious smile that softened the hardest person. A loving son, a devoted brother, an affectionate nephew, a doting uncle, an adoring cousin, a loyal friend, a cherished partner, and a dedicated employee—his towering yet humble presence was a gift to everyone. Keith stood tall in every sense of the word—but he never thought twice about bending down to wrap someone in one of his strong, grounding hugs or offering his shoulder when the weight of the world felt too heavy. He made you feel safe, seen, and never alone. The Don approached life with faith, resilience, curiosity and courage to inspire those around him. Despite his personal pains and sorrows, Keith gave an encouraging perspective to situations to motivate change for the better. At age of 14, he discovered his talent for making music and from there, headphones, a microphone, and a laptop became his constant companions. Whether he was focused on the art of making beats, producing music with other creative souls or just spending time with friends and family, he gave his whole heart, time, and attention. During his lifetime, Keith encouraged everyone to dream big, pursue those dreams and push past any obstacles that stand in the way. He had a way of making people feel seen and heard. He never let a conversation end without reminding you what mattered most. No matter how short the phone call, he opened the conversation with “Peace” and ended with three simple, powerful words: “I love you.” Those words were not hippy habits or empty phrases—they were who he was. He loved deeply, without hesitation, and made sure the people in his life always knew it. To his closest friends—the ones who called themselves Day 1—he wasn’t just a friend, he was family. The kind of family you choose. With them, Keith built relationships rooted in trust, honesty, and memories that will never fade. They shared everything: laughter, tears, late-night talks, hopes, tragedies, dreams, and formed an unshakable bond that only comes from growing together through life’s ups and downs. Day 1 isn’t just a name— they are brothers and sisters, and Keith loved them with his whole heart, mind, and soul. From childhood adventures to wild, crazy memories to the quiet, everyday moments, Keith was the heart of Day 1. He was the kind of friend who showed up—always. He had your back when it counted, and made you laugh when you needed it most. For Day 1, this loss is beyond words—but so is the love they’ll always carry for him. He was a Day 1, through and through—and he always will be. To continue his legacy of love and resilience are his mother, (Nichelle “Nya” Calloway), his grandparents (Debra Faison and Jasper Brown, Jr.) and his siblings (Peace Calloway-Salazar, Nicholas Calloway-Salazar, Myles Calloway-Salazar, Nyrah Andre, Jahson Williams, Cameron Aiello, Ethan Douglas, Josh Vucolo, Amber Chambers, Andrea Chambers, Andre Chambers, and Lyndon Matthew Hunter). His beautiful partner, Claudia Kashtan, who he loved deeply and shared a close union, is committed to his legacy of laughter and grace. His honorary parents (Gary and Paulette Kashtan), grandparents (O.T. Chambers, Pauline Killing, and Theoretha Deloach), aunts (Yolanda “Titi Honey”, Kesha Manley, Aleshia Brown, Otesha Brown, Kimberly Brown, Nikoda Grant, Ahn Andre), uncles (Keith Brown, Darrick Calloway, Gregory Spears, Clarence Hall, Bryan Wright, Cory Hendry), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and honorary family from all over the world , continue life with his testimony of resilience, courage, and faith. Predeceased by his biological father (Michael Chambers), his great-grandparents (Roy L. Callaway, Bernice S. Calloway, Jasper R. Brown, Sr. Ruby M. Brown), his grand-fathers (Jimmy Faison and Jerry Deloach) and his beloved kindred (Alice Brown Rodriguez, Virgil C. Brown, Beulah O’ Cain, Javon Cutler, Denroy Morgan, Sam Morris, and Seshep Bey), Keith now rests among his eternal family. Though his time with us was far too short, Keith made a loving and lasting impact. He will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter as well as his insights about life, death, and all things in between the two. His social media pages show The Don sharing his thoughts on life as he knew it with those who listened and watched. Wise beyond his years, Keith expressed himself eloquently in thoughts, words, actions, and most of all, HIS MUSIC! Rest in Power, Keith! You will always be missed and never forgotten. Donxszn Forever 25! A candlelight vigil will be held April 25, 2025. Contact IG:PeaceYisrael for location. The celebration of Keith’s life will be held on April 26, 2025, at 2:30pm.
