Margaret "Peggy" Radice-Tanner Obituary

Margaret (Peggy) Ann Radice-Tanner, a beloved teacher and devoted mother, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born in Orange, NJ, on April 11, 1939, to John and Mary (Kehoe) Swift. Peggy grew up in Orange and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, NJ.


She married John Radice from Newark, NJ, and together they had three children. After earning a degree in Education from William Paterson College, Peggy dedicated over 25 years of her life to teaching elementary school, primarily in second grade, at Stephen J. Gerace School and Hillview Elementary School in Pequannock Township, NJ. Her students cherished the opportunity to learn from her. Peggy enjoyed traveling, shopping, bowling, playing card games with family and friends and was an avid reader.


Peggy was the beloved wife of Richard Tanner for 44 years. She is survived by her children: Glenn Radice (Katya), Robin Wilson-Doyle (Kevin), and Sherry Schur (Marc), as well as her seven grandchildren: Veronica Radice, Anton Radice, Megan Wilson, Sarah Schur, Eric Schur, April Schur, and Scott Schur. She is also survived by her brother Robert Swift, her nephews, John Swift IV and Robert Swift Jr., and her nieces, Sharon Swift and Patricia Swift.
