Marylou Mackenzie
October 8, 1938 - May 14, 2025
The Mackenzie family is heartbroken to lose Marylou - our wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, aunt, sister - our Matriarch. Marylou was one of a kind. Loving, funny, caring -
words are not enough to describe her. She loved us all and we felt it! Whether it was
baking us cream puffs, empire biscuits or apple pie, cooking a delicious meal, crafting
keepsakes, telling stories, making us laugh (a lot) or giving warm hugs, she was constantly
on the go to make us happy. Her life was not always easy but it was a good life and she
was happiest when she was with her family. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, shopping,
chatting with her grandchildren and truly adored spending time with her great grandchildren.
Marylou grew up in East Newark, NJ, then raised her family in Kearny, NJ, and spent the
rest of her life in Toms River NJ.
She was a buyer for Hahnes & Company Department Store in Newark NJ and then worked
for Zaksons in Brick. She volunteered for many years for St. Anthonys Catholic Church in
East Newark. Marylou was very faithful and loved her parish, St. Justin the Martyr Catholic
Church in Toms River.
Marylou was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary Corblies; her siblings,
Tommy, Bernie, Paul, Annie and Eileen.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert, her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and
John Almeida, her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Cheryl, John and Meghan and
Craig and Nancy. Her grandchildren, Megan, Jillian, Brian, Mark, Steven, Jaime, Michael,
Zachary, Connor, Kyle, Gillian, Kayla, Madelyn and Thomas. Her great-grandchildren,
Mackenzie, Benjamin, Maverick, Vivienne, Hazley, Emma, Robert, Colton, Brian, Ryan,
Miles and Averi; her best friend for the last sixty years, Pat Davitt and many nieces,
nephews, and friends.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at St. Justin the Martyr Catholic
Church in Toms River, NJ.
