Donald J. Forleo-July 20, 1950 - May 13, 2025

Don, 74, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at Barnegat Nursing Home. He was born on

July 20, 1950, in Elizabeth, New Jersey the son of Steven and Mary (Gignatelli) Forleo. Don in his

childhood had a passion for the culinary arts in baking. His uncle and owner of Vaccaro’s bakery

in Colonia, New Jersey mentored him in the art of baking since his early teenage years, by the

time he turned 24 he then moved on to opening his own 2 bakeries in his hometown. Following

that he then began to work in New York City, continuing his passion of baking. Wanting to try

something new he started working as a laborer with the Elizabeth Local Union 394 for over 15

years.

Don then moved to Toms River where he resided following his death. He is survived by his ex-

wife Doreen D’Emilio his 2 children, Gina Forleo Ananthan (Kumar) & Donald Forleo (Michelle).

3 grandchildren Donald & Nicholas Forleo and Ariana Ananthan. Surviving brother Ronald

Forleo and he is preceded in death by his brother Steven Forleo.

Services are private and at a later date, we will be holding a celebration of life with an invitation

only.
