Maryann Herviou Obituary

MaryAnn "Nanny" Herviou, 83, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025. Born on February 9, 1942, in Paterson, NJ. She shared 42 years of marriage and three children with Joseph Mattiello. She is survived by her loving daughters Jo Ann Spencer & husband Paul, Laura Mattiello, devoted son, Michael Mattiello & his wife, Rebeca, Cherished grandchildren Hope & her husband Chris, Victoria , Noah & Joseph & Great Grandchildren Elaina & Michael. Also surviving is her husband, Andre’.




She raised her children in the close-knit community of Lincroft, where many treasured memories were made at McDonald’s, Delicious Orchards, and the beach. Family dinners were always filled with laughter, playful shenanigans, and the very best food. MaryAnn’s life was defined by her laughter, her boundless love for her family, her affection for animals, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to call her a friend.




She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Alice Tagliareni, and her beloved brother Larry Tagliareni who kept her laughing.




MaryAnn was small but mighty and so deeply adored. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of her family, friends and the deer and wildlife she fed.
