Lewis R. Maldonado, age 69, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away on February 3, 2026. Born on July 26, 1956, in Neptune, New Jersey, to Isaias Maldonado and Virginia Hopkins.

Lewis dedicated his professional life to dentistry, where he was known for his compassion, skill, and commitment to his patients. He took great pride in his work. Prior to his dental career, Lewis proudly served in the United States Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, stationed at Fort Bragg. His military service reflected his sense of discipline, perseverance, and dedication—qualities that carried through his professional life.

Lewis lived an active life and found peace in the outdoors. He was an avid sailor, cyclist, and outdoorsman who felt most at home on the open water, on long rides, and while spending time in nature.

Lewis is survived by his children and grandchildren, who were an important part of his life and who carry forward his legacy. He is survived by his daughter, Allison Krott, her husband, Gregory, and their children, Elizabeth and John; his daughter, Lauren Marshall, her husband, Richard, and their son, Preston; and his son, Lewis Maldonado Jr., his wife, Kristin, and their children, Riley and Saige.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ocean County Cremation Service in Toms River, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lewis’s memory, at the family’s discretion.
