In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Grandmother
Born on December 16, 1948, and peacefully passing on January 31, 2026, our beloved grandmother lived a life defined by strength, intelligence, compassion, and unwavering love for her family.
She was truly an extraordinary and accomplished woman. A lifelong learner and determined spirit, she graduated from Kean University in 1986, earning her bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Political Science and Public Administration. She continued her education at Rutgers Law School, where she majored in Constitutional Human Rights Law and earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1989.
For over 16 years, she practiced as an attorney, advocating with integrity and conviction. She later served six years as a Revenue Officer with the IRS, bringing her strong sense of fairness and dedication to public service. Her professional journey continued in real estate, where she thrived for many years before finishing her working career as a caregiver — a role that perfectly reflected her nurturing heart. She retired in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and service to others.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was the heart of her family. She raised two children with love and determination. She found joy in life’s simple treasures — walking along the beach, collecting seashells and sea glass like precious gems, sharing delicious meals, cooking for those she loved, and filling rooms with warmth and laughter. She treasured good conversation, meaningful friendships, and acts of kindness. Many sought her advice, and she gave it generously, always with wisdom and sincerity. Helping others was not just something she did — it was who she was.
She is predeceased by her loving parents, Mafalda Da Rocha and Mario Da Rocha; her brothers, Ralph and Daniel Rocha; and her cherished grandson, Anthony Steitz.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Rocha-Bollaro; her son, Mario Cassitta; her granddaughters, Gracelane Torres and her spouse Michael Corsi, Emily Steitz, and Maria Steitz; and the apple of her eye, her great-granddaughter, Autumn Corsi. She is also lovingly remembered by the Priolo family, the Cassitta family, her many cousins in Brazil, and the incredible groups of friends who supported and loved her throughout the years. Our family is deeply grateful for the friendship, care, and compassion they gave her.
She was surrounded by family and friends in her final days — a testament to the love she cultivated throughout her life.
Her wisdom, strength, warmth, and generous spirit will live on in all of us. She will be missed more than words can express, but her love will remain in our hearts forever.
