Michael Weidenbush, age 67, of South Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2026, surrounded by family after a long illness.
Michael was born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Douglas and Yolanda Weidenbush (Malgieri). Michael grew up in South Toms River and attended Toms River High School South. After graduating from Toms River South in 1977, he went on to graduate from Seton Hall University.
Michael was a swimming pool installer for over 40 years and when he wasn’t installing pools, he was ready to do any type of construction work. Michael was a fantastic cook and made a mean eggplant parm.
Michael was a wrestler for Toms River South and won the District and Regional Tournaments multiple times. He finished fourth in the state tournament in 1976 and went on to win in 1977. He finished 2nd in the college National Tournament. Michael was inducted into the South Jersey Hall of Fame in 2011 and is being inducted into the Toms River Schools Hall of Fame in April.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Cindy and stepchildren Scott and Tiffani and 4 grandchildren that he adored. Michael is Daddy to Fur Babies Roxie and Dottie. Michael is also survived by his brother Dennis and sisters Rochette, Diane, Carole and Lisa, and many nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his sister Debbie.
