James Scullion-Cusick Obituary

James Scullion-Cusick, 67, of Toms River, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026. He

was an avid chef most of his life working in many kitchens. He especially loved cooking big

holiday meals for his family. They all loved his homemade manicotti. He enjoyed dancing,

fishing, camping, and dressing up on Halloween. He always had a smart comeback in any

situation even if he may have been a bit lewd at times; he still got a laugh from those around

him. He always aimed to make people smile. James will be deeply missed as he leaves us and

takes his journey on the heavenly path to be with his Lord. He will be received by many loving

arms and missed by many still here.

James is predeceased by his mother, Brenda Cusick.

He is survived by his loving husband, Gary Scullion-Cusick; his father, John “Jack” Cusick; his

children, Nicole Cusick, Christopher Cittadino (Lauren), and Matthew Cittadino (Maria); his

brothers, Michael Tortorella (Tammy), Thomas Tortorella (Denise), Anthony Tortorella (Debbie),

David Tortorella (Jennifer) and Danny Tortorella (Lynn); his sister, Patricia Tortorella Torres

(John); and his eight grandchildren; Madison, Giada, Lula, Giulliana, Antonio, Jospeh, Luca and

Lorenzo
