Linda Bernice Kohler Forrester peacefully passed away in Whiting NJ on February 24th, 2026, at
the age of 78.
She was born on April 28th, 1947, in Aliquippa Pennsylvania to Harold and Hazel Campbell.
Linda is survived by her 3 children, 2 sons and a daughter- Rick Kohler, Gene Kohler, and Brandi-
Lynn Bissland. 5 grandchildren- Tara Ignacz, Jake Kohler, Izzie Kohler, Viv Bissland, and Ava
Bissland. 2 sisters- Phyliss Collins and Caroline Sue Morrison. 2 sisters and a brother preceded
her passing- Shirley Turner, Marie Morales, and James Terry Campbell. Linda was twice
married, both husbands preceding her passing. She shared her 3 children and many years with
her first husband (widowed) and several special years with her second (widowed).
Linda was born, grew up, and lived a vast majority of her life in small towns just outside of
Pittsburgh PA. Areas such as Moon Twp, Raccoon Twp, and Pleasant Hills. In 2012 she
purchased a home to live near her daughter within Whiting NJ.
"Mum" worked a few jobs during her first marriage, primarily to ensure her 3 children had their
Winky and later that special "Friday Night Burger King treat". Whenever possible she ensured
her children's needs came above her own, whether it was scrounging up a few dollars to take
her sons to see Flash Gordon and The Empire Strikes Back (multiple times) and again always
doing what she could to help her daughter.
When her first grandchildren were born (twins) she became known as Grandma Coco, or simply
"Coco". The twins couldn't pronounce Kohler, instead blurting out "Coco". It affectionately
stuck.
Linda was an incredibly talented artist, illustrating 70's era high fashion designs with fluid ease.
Her female renders were amazing! There is no doubt Linda would have had a successful art
career but instead chose to simply be Mum. She passed on her gift to her sons who went on to
have successful art careers of their own, thanks in large part to her creative support. Her
daughter expressed artistic talents through being a skilled hair stylist.
Mum was always ready and excited to beat any takers at her favorite game, Rummy 500 playing
cards!
Later in life Coco enjoyed keeping up with family via Facebook, playing her little Facebook
games, putting together puzzles, visiting family in NC and TX, watching goofy YouTube vids, and
snacking on her bagged popcorn.
Keep those cards ready... your kids and grandkids will play many hands of 500 when you are
together once again.
