Tecla Josephine Alfone

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister

Tecla J. Alfone of Toms River passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in her home surrounded by her

loving family. She was born in Newark, New Jersey, and was the daughter of the late Isadore Sibilia and

Antoinette Meglio Rogers.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Frank Alfone, and her five children: Frank Alfone and wife,

Vicky, Denise Agosta and husband Thomas, Janine MacFarlane and husband Robert, Michele Castelli and

husband James, and Renee Alfone Cozzolino. She was the cherished grandmother of fifteen

grandchildren: Sabrina, Alexander, Thomas, Frank, Michael, Robert, Nicolette, Gionna, Vincent, Noelle,

Gabrielle, Rachael, Antonio, Lorenzo, and Izabella. She was also the proud great-grandmother of nineteen

great-grandchildren.

Tecla is also survived by her sister, Susan Grippaldi, and was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas

Sibilia.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church in

Nutley, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
