Born in Long Branch and raised and residing in Eatontown and Long Branch for most of his
life, he moved to Leisure Village West in Manchester in 2007.
A Shore Regional graduate, he then enlisted in the Army and served 3 tours in Vietnam. He
returned home from service after proudly serving his Country and spent his career as a
systems analyst at PerkinElmer before joining Fort Monmouth, where he retired. He loved
the Giants and Yankees and enjoyed attending many games over the years. He loved good
food and good music to dance to. His hobbies included crabbing with his dad and brothers,
going to Monmouth Park Racetrack, long walks along the Jersey Shore, and playing bingo.
He found constant comfort in his beloved dog, Chewy.
He is predeceased by his parents, Charles W. and Bessie (Anna) Covert-Boker, and two
brothers, Donald and Robert. Surviving is his partner of 10 years, Annette Sidwa;
daughter, Maria Aubrey, and husband, Brian; stepdaughter, Kristina Talerico, and husband,
Robert; and many nieces and nephews.
Fred faced life’s hardships, including serious health challenges, with resilience and humor.
He valued family, friendship, and laughter, often saying, “I’m peachy.” He leaves behind a
legacy of acceptance and joy. His larger-than-life smile and generous spirit will be deeply
missed.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 am at Monmouth
Memorial Park Mausoleum in Tinton Falls, NJ.
