Bruce E. Newman of Toms River passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him. He was born on January 27,1943, in Louisiana.

Bruce graduated from Toms River High School in 1961 and went on to build a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. For more than 40 years, he proudly owned and operated Bruce's Machine Shop, taking great pride in his work as a machinist.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie; his children, Cindy Newman Stucker and Daniel Bruce Newman; his cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Angela, Brandon, William, Nina, and Mack; his nephews, David and Stephen; his niece, Alicia and his great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Alivia, Gavin, Laney, Harmony, Sherrianne, Raffael, Saylor, and Navy.

Outside of work, Bruce loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, tending his garden, and sharing stories from his childhood with anyone willing to listen. He was stubborn in the best of ways and had a wonderful sense of dry humor. He especially loved driving the kids around on his tractor, fishing, camping and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of his family.

Bruce often spoke fondly of his mother, Belle, and her Southern cooking, recalling those meals with affection and gratitude throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Bruce by spending time outdoors, casting a fishing line, tending a garden, or sharing time with those you love.
