Obituary of Robert E. Clayton

Robert E. Clayton, 85, of Forked River, NJ passed away on Monday August 29, 2016 surrounded by his family. Bob worked for Toms River Chemical retiring approximately 25 years ago. Bob is better known to many as Poppy. Poppy enjoyed his vegetable garden, woodworking in his shop, watching the boats on the river and his outings with George and the guys. He especially enjoyed his 'Poppy Sundays' at The Captain's Inn. Bob is predeceased by his wife Roselie Clayton. He is survived by his children Mary Daly and partner George Voishnis, Raymond Daly and wife Terry, Joy Nungesser, Alan Clayton, and Dr's. Patti Ferro and husband Anthony. Bob is also survived by his grandchildren Brittney Layton and fiancé Christian Hintz, Jessica Layton, Sean Daly, Ashley Daly, Justin Nungesser and fiancé Cathy Sandoval, Megan Nungesser and wife Ashley Heiler, Tara Claxton and husband Will, Mikala Ferro and many great grandchildren. Bob resided at home until recently with his daughter Mary, George and granddaughter Jessica. Services will be held to celebrate the life of Robert on Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 from 4-7pm at Lacey United Methodist Church. 203 Lacey Rd, Forked River, NJ 08731.
