Obituary of Barbara Fyfe

Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Barbara Ann Fyfe (nee Quilter) 74, of Waretown, passed away on June 18th after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Barbara was born on February 10, 1949 to Marian and James Quilter in West New York, New Jersey. After she graduated from Memorial High School in 1966, Barbara went on to study nursing. After graduating with a degree in Nursing, Barbara started her first job at Christ Hospital in Jersey City as a nurse. This kickstarted a lifelong year career in healthcare that culminated with her serving as an Administrator of several nursing homes throughout New Jersey. Barbara also dabbled as a realter and travel agent in her free time. In 1967, Barbara married Kenneth Fyfe and they went on to have two children, Susan and Kenneth Junior. Barbara was an avid cruiser (50 plus sea adventures!). When not cruising, planning her next trip, or rooting for her New York Giants, she could be found at a slot machine in her beloved Atlantic City. She was also an active member at the Holiday Beach Club in Waretown. Above all, Barbara will be remembered by family and friends for her generosity. Barbara was predeceased by parents Marian and James Quilter. She is survived by husband Kenneth Fyfe, daughter Susan McDonald of Jackson, New Jersey, son Kenneth Fyfe Jr. of Browns Mills, New Jersey; three grandchildren Alex, Nicholas, and Calista; brothers James and Thomas Quilter and sister Dawn Chromey. A Celebration of Barbara’s Life is being planned for later this summer. Details will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or VITAS Hospice and Palliative Care.
