I Own a Cemetery Plot in a Privately Owned Cemetery, Do I Have to use Their Funeral Home?

At Ocean County Cremation Service, many of our clients have this question for us. The simple answer is “no.” If you own a cemetery plot in a privately owned cemetery, you are not obliged to use their funeral home for the service. You have the flexibility to use a funeral home you prefer, no matter where your cemetery and the plot are located.

Many private cemeteries are part of corporate entities, and most of them have their own funeral homes. If the funeral director feels that the service arrangements are not in place, they may recommend that you opt for their services. Although this may be a convenient choice for you, you should compare the services offered by other funeral homes in the area. Sometimes, families are short on time and opt for services from the funeral home connected to the privately-owned cemetery where they have a cemetery plot.

High-Quality Funeral Services

Find out whether they suit your needs and how the services fit your budget. Most family-owned homes offer very similar grave markers, urns, and caskets. We work with various cemeteries and help our clients with the services they need. Many of our clients own cemetery plots in privately owned cemeteries but prefer that we handle all the memorial service or funeral service arrangements.

It is best to compare what is offered by the different funeral homes, as time permits, before proceeding. Family-owned funeral homes would typically provide similar caskets, urns, and grave markers. We work with various cemeteries; please call us to obtain further information about cremation or funeral services.

If you have any questions or need more information on our funeral services, please contact Ocean County Cremation Service specialists. We are here to help you in any way we can.
