Does A Funeral Service Have To Be Held In A Funeral Home Or Church?

Death is followed by two separate ceremonies: the viewing and the funeral service. Before burial, the body is displayed so mourners can pay tribute. Family members of the deceased will be available for visitors one hour before the service. Visitation at a funeral will typically last for four hours; in some cultures, it is customary to take place the day before the burial.

In the last hour of the visitation, close relatives may gather for a brief service. A funeral service can be a very emotional and challenging time for clients, and we know they may have many questions. Ocean County Cremation Service is a good resource for further details.

There Is No Requirement For A Church Funeral Service

The funeral service need not take place in a religious building. Determining the faith of your loved one can be helpful in this situation. If it doesn't, you might want to think about whether or not they'd like it. A large group of people typically performs the funeral service in the chapel of a funeral home. A funeral service might not be necessary if the deceased has requested cremation.

A Funeral Service Can Be A Memorial or Celebration of Life

It's important to note that not all venues will accommodate a casket and that a funeral home reception will be much more personal and memorable for everyone involved. You'll need to decide on a venue for the funeral if you don't want to hold it in a church. It is important to remember the wishes of the departed once again.
