Can I have a Cremation and a Visitation?

Whether you are advanced funeral planning or planning the funeral of a loved one, you will want to consider all of your options, including seeing your loved one again for the last time. A visitation gives you this option and is where you are able to officially say goodbye to your loved one, usually in the funeral home before they are sent to their final resting place or for cremation. For many it will be the opportunity to say goodbye that they didn’t get while their loved one was alive and can be an important aspect during planning to consider.

Even if you have a cremation, visitation is still an option, particularly if you select a funeral provider with their own rooms, or a cremation service like us that have these facilities. However, depending on the type of service you have chosen may affect your visitation options. Many funeral homes may only allow two or three family members for visitation before your loved one is sent for cremation if you don’t have a service planned, while those with a funeral or memorial service may be allowed many more.

Private Family Viewings

We offer private family viewings prior to cremation whether you want a brief goodbye or something a little longer and our two different locations can be very accommodating to your needs and concerns, ensuring that you and your loved ones are treated with dignity and respect.

It is important that you always check and discuss with the cremation service or funeral director whether visitations are possible before you make your choices so you aren’t disappointed later on. You should also take note that visitations aren’t always for everyone and some prefer to remember their loved ones as they were prior to their passing so don’t feel pressured to include one either.

For more information on our cremation and visitation services, visit our website or contact a member of staff who will gladly answer your questions for you.
