Memorial Service Ideas for Families Who Choose Cremation

Memorial services are much more flexible when it comes to ideas that you can use and are often more personal and unique to the deceased which is why many prefer them. Here are some awesome ideas you could implement:

Photo Collage

Rather than one individual photo, share an array of memories in a photo collage. This would also be an excellent way to get people together to share stories of the deceased and bring people closer.

Engraved Urns

For those wanting to keep their loved ones’ close, an urn is the method of choice but you can personalize this even more by having them engraved (similar to a headstone.) With modern technology, you can even have a laser engraved photograph of the deceased.

Scented Candles

If your loved one is known for their baking or a specific scent that helps you remember them. Add the personal touch of scented candles to help create an atmosphere. You could also get ones with engravings for keepsakes afterwards.

Themes

Whether it’s a hobby, heritage, religion, interests or even a favourite TV show or movie, a theme can help bring all the elements together while also allowing you to represent what your loved one, loved most.

Photo & Video Slideshow

During the service you could display a slideshow of photos alongside a poem or reading to make it more interactive and allow others to see photos they may not have seen before.

A memorial service is an opportunity to show personality and uniqueness at the service and can be more comforting to those grieving, as it is a truer reflection of the deceased and a less sombre occasion.
