Understanding Cremation Pricing

Funeral or cremation expenses can be an unexpected financial burden sometimes, especially for families who have lost their primary earning member. People need to have a good idea of the expenses involved in the funeral process to plan their budget and arrange for the finances. While the cost of funerals and burials is readily available, most people aren’t aware of the costs involved in cremation. Here’s a brief guide to help you answer some common questions.

Cremations are more affordable

Cremations are more affordable compared to traditional burials because they don’t require a burial plot, casket, arranging for someone to dig the grave, and bear other such expenses. Cremation is a more direct and simplified process, which is why the cost of cremation is quite low.

The cost doesn’t include funeral or memorial services

Cremation only deals with the disposal of the body and not the funeral or memorial services. These ceremonies can be as simple or elaborate as you desire, which can add to your expenses. More elaborate funeral services are more expensive while a small and intimate memorial service in your home is much more affordable.

The cost of cremation

This cost includes services like picking up the body, storing it, cremating it, and the storage urn for the ashes. The cost of disposing the ashes is additional if you want to store them in a Columbarium or bury them in a burial ground. A cremation service provider will offer a price list including all the expenses so you can know how much you need to spend.
