Choosing the right song for the funeral of a family member or loved one can be quite difficult. The song should be soothing and not offensive in any way. It should help comfort the ones in grief and the rest of the attendees at the funeral.

People spend a lot of time wondering which song might be appropriate and would work best. We at Ocean County Cremation Service have seen that families like the idea of playing music at a memorial service. Here are some of the things you can keep in mind while choosing the perfect song:

1. Take The Deceased’s Personality Into Consideration: If your aim is to provide a personal touch to the funeral, the best way is to pick a song that will complement the deceased individual’s personality. Search for music that the person enjoyed and use that at the funeral.

2. Emphasize On The Lyrics: A funeral is not a happy event, choose songs that are melodically and lyrically soothing. Songs with offensive and explicit content should be steered away from. This will give the funeral a very personal touch.

3. Classical Music: Many people have a tough time deciding on which songs to play at funerals; in such situations, classical music is an excellent option. This music is known for its elegance and there are a number of classical music compositions to choose from.

In addition to all these, you can consider playing a combination of recitals, songs and classical music to create a much more unique presentation. It’s a great way to honor and remember the departed soul.
