Thanksgiving festivities spread joy and happiness among friends and family. People like to share quality time with each other and also remember their loved ones who are no more with them.

The way people like to memorialize a loved family member differs from person to person. Someone who is still grieving may prefer more personal ways than one who has come a long way from that journey. But both seek to feel the presence of the person on Thanksgiving Day. Here are 5 ways to memorialize a loved one:

1. Cook A Favorite Dish

Food is at the center of festivities and Thanksgiving dinners overflow with various dishes. A favorite dish of the loved one can be a decorative gourmet item that you place at the center of the food spread. It will revive the memories of the person who is no longer in your midst.

2. Visit A Friend

If you are in touch with a friend of your loved one, consider spending some time together and exchange memories of the dear departed soul. Reliving fond memories is one way to deal with the loss.

3. Contribute To A Cause

Memorializing is associated with charity of various kinds. If the departed person was a sports lover, donate sports items to aspiring, needy sportspersons. If he or she was a book lover, donate books to a library in the neighborhood.

4. Arrange A Music Program At Home

Music is an evocative medium that can bring a rush of memories and transport the listener to a different world. If your loved one was a music lover, organize a music event at home and let the house resonate with music he or she loved.
