Top Tips On Staying Safe In Public During The Pandemic

The COVID-19 virus is exceptionally contagious. Not only can it spread via touch but also through the air, making it extremely dangerous for people to step out into public spaces. Today in the US, all schools and colleges have been shut down to keep students safe.

Most offices are also encouraging their employees to work remotely, so it reduces the need for them to step out of their homes. Despite all the precautions we take, there would be times when we have to step out of our homes. It could be either to make some purchases or for some other important work.

Things To Keep In View

It is at times such as these that you need to follow specific tips to stay safe in public during the pandemic:

  • Do not omit to wear a face mask when you are stepping out of your house regardless of how long you need to be outdoors.

  • Always make it a point to wash your hands frequently even when you are at home.  Wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds each time using a hand wash.

  • Preferably use a hand wash rather than a sanitizer when you are in the house.

  • Try to stay away from crowded spaces.

  • Do not step into a crowded elevator when you are in a public area.

  • Do not touch too many surfaces while you are outside. Since many people touch railings, walls, door handles, checkout counters at supermarkets,  it is best to do not to touch these surfaces as far as possible.

  • Always be systematic when you are outside shopping for any products. Create a detailed list of all the errands you need to run or shopping that you need to do.  It will help to prevent you from being in public spaces longer than you need to.
