Obituary of Mark A Zieniuk

 

Mark A. Zieniuk, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, Mark began his scholarly pursuits at Marist High School in Bayonne. He continued to acquire degrees in education and technology, culminating in a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University. He retired from the Ocean County Library System in 2013.

Mark was multifaceted, had many interests, and excelled in whatever he set his mind to accomplish. He was an avid reader, loved music, the arts, photography, technology, and most of all, nature. He thoroughly enjoyed hiking, camping, and canoeing with his family, having hiked half of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks. His passion for the outdoors led him to earn his Instructor Certification from Outward Bound.

Mark is survived by his wife, Micheline; daughter, Rachel; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Valerie; and granddaughter, Eleanor, as well as sister-in law and husband, Arlette and Robert; sister-in-law, Rachel; brother-in-law and wife, Jacques and Lynn; sister-in-law and husband, Esther and George; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Adele.

Cremation services will be private, and are under the direction of Ocean County Cremation Service in Forked River.
