Obituary of William Philipp Bachmann

 

It is with great sadness that the family of William Philipp Bachmann of Toms River, NJ, announces his passing on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the age of 93 years. He will always be remembered as the "eternal optimist" and was inspirational, kind and compassionate to everyone he knew. William, a.k.a. as Bill, was born in Nussloch near Heidelberg, Germany on March 18, 1924.  He received his mechanical engineering degree from Staedtische Ingenieur Schule in Mannheim, West Germany in 1952 and earned his Masters of Science from Newark College of Engineering in 1965. William will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Wilma of over 60 years, and his children, Arleen Peterson, MD of Tucson, AZ and Patricia Bachmann, DMD of Fort Myers, FL.  William will also be fondly remembered by his son-in-law Mark Peterson, MD and grandchildren, Nadiya and Nicole Peterson and many other family members and friends.

A funeral mass service in memory of Bill will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Bill's memory.
