Obituary of Herbert Hoeger

 

Herbert “Herb” Hoeger of Barnegat, NJ passed away peacefully on March 10, 2018 at 
Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ at age 83. Born in Camden, Herb lived in Manahawkin for over 30 years. He served in the United States Army and retired from the Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard.  He worked for The Anderson Agency in Manahawkin, NJ for 21 years.  In 1989 Herb served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Flotilla 74 in Manahawkin.  He served as Division 7 Captain, Division Operations Officer, Commercial Fishing Inspector, Vessel Examiner, Public Education Instructor and Qualification Examiner and Coxswain. Herb retired in 2014.

He will be missed by all who knew him.  He was predeceased by his first wife Phyllis, his son Steve Hoeger and daughter Connie Dittmar. Surviving are his wife Barbara, his grandsons Neil (Amy), Mark and Kevin and a great granddaughter Rebecca. Services will be private. Donations may be made in his name to Deborah Heart and Lung, Browns Mills, NJ, Angel Flight www.angelflightne.org or any charity of your choice.
