Obituary of James Farrell

James Farrell, 86, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at his home in Toms River, NJ. Jim was born October 8, 1931 to Joseph and Elizabeth Farrell in Paisley, Scotland, one of twelve caring brothers and sisters. He met the love of his life, Veronica Donnelly, and was married June 19, 1954 at Saint Mirren’s Cathedral, Paisley Scotland. Jim and Vera immigrated to the United States, and settled in Toms River NJ.

He always led by example with a great work ethic. Scotty honed his craft as a master bricklayer for over fifty years. It was not uncommon for him to help many family members, neighbors and friends with all kinds of building projects. He worked hard for his family and loved to spend time with them.

He remained a life long Glasgow Celtic Supporter. He enjoyed reading and watching western movies as well as the New York Rangers and New York Mets.

Jim is survived by his four sons, Joesph (Gail); John (Terri); Steven; Jim (Nancy); grandchildren, James (Nikki), Kevin (Deanna), Melissa (Randy) Morgan, and great grand children Randi Mae; Ethan; and Skyann; his brother, Dick and all his nieces and nephews. We will miss him!

Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, two daughters Joan and Josephine, and ten brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17th, 10:30 am at Saint Maximilian Kolbe’s Church 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757.
