Nancy Young Runyon, 81, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed away May 9, 2018, at Genesis Southern Ocean Center, Manahawkin due to complications from Alzheimer’s.   Nancy was born August 3, 1936, in Salem, NJ, daughter of John B. Young and Berniece White Young. She grew up in Whitesville, NJ and graduated from Lakewood High School, Class of 1954.  Following high school, she became the secretary to Frank Bartolf, former mayor of Lakewood, NJ, and proprietor of Bartolf Equipment Company. In 1959, she married Ronald P. Runyon and built a home in Brick, NJ, later moving to Point Pleasant, NJ and finally settling in Manahawkin.  For over 30 years, Nancy was an Avon Representative. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald, daughter and son-in-law Mary Ellen and Michael Powner, daughter and son-in-law Kerry L. and Fred McNickle, grandsons Reilly P., Griffin R. and Trevor J. McNickle, all of Manahawkin and brother, John B. Young of Washington, DC.  A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 714 Herbertsville Road, Brick, NJ, on June 30, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to either The Alzheimer’s Association or to your favorite charity, would be deeply appreciated.
