Obituary of Vincent Scialli

Vincent "Bud" Scialli passed away peacefully in his home on September 7, 2018. He was born on July 27, 1943 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Victor and Gertrude (Dunn) Scialli. Bud served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He was a salesman in the wine and liquor industry for over 30 years. Bud was an active member of his community, serving as a volunteer fire fighter for the Eatontown Fire Department and the Kiwanis Club.

 

Bud was well-known for his cooking, especially his bouillabaisse, sausage and peppers and Sunday gravy. He was always up for a party and he and his wife, Mena, hosted many gatherings of family and friends at their home.

 

Bud loved his summer home in Long Beach Island and enjoyed sitting in the front yard under his favorite "coconut" pine tree and socializing with neighbors. He was an avid reader of the New York Times and followed current events with great interest. He will be best known for his story telling and his sage advice.

 

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mena (Castellano) Scialli, his two children Regina Lotito-Starin (Daniel) and Vincent (Renee) and three grandchildren, Ashley, Evyn, and Nicholas; his brother Dennis & his wife Carol and his sister Grace & husband Bruce Murphy, his faithful dog, Benji and a large extended family.

 

A memorial service for Bud will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J. A Celebration of Life will follow.
