Obituary of Ralph Wheelbarger

Ralph Wheelbarger, 63, Howell, NJ, died comfortably on September 10, 2018. He was surrounded by his surviving family - Barbara, wife; Andrea Donlon, Seth Berkman, and Traci Romano, step-children. He also has five surviving grandchildren, who will miss him greatly, and his dog, Izzie. Ralph was a lifelong public servant, starting his career as a United States Marine and finishing his work with Alert Ambulance Service, Lakewood, NJ. He also had the fortune to travel throughout our country serving as a Sheriff and firefighter. Since moving to NJ in 2006, he frequently supported his fellow Vietnam Veterans and was part of the team that assisted with evacuations for both Hurricanes Irene and Sandy. The family will be holding a small, private ceremony in the coming days. Ralph will be laid to rest with all of the rights afforded a veteran and would ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude. He was a generous, funny, loving man who will be immensely missed by his family and community.
