Obituary of Michael Aversa

Michael, who previously resided in Cliffside Park and Palisades Park before relocating to Toms River, NJ, in 2011, passed away on November 24, 2018, at the ripe old age of 97.  Michael was born on July 16, 1921, in Naples, Italy, to Rose and John Aversa. He came to the United States in 1923, at the age of 2. His parents and siblings Louise DeSena, Anna Panaro, Josephine Storet, and brother Edward Aversa are all deceased.  He joins in Heaven, his beloved wife, Magdalena (1992) and daughter Rosemarie (2010). He is survived by his son John and daughter-in-law Marion of Toms River, NJ. Also surviving are his grandchildren Michael (Lisa), Michele (Christopher) and Edward (Paula), eight great grandchildren, Hannah, Paige,Sean, Samantha , Ryan, Paul,Arabella, and Ethan, and two great, great, grandchildren, Bellamy and Clark.  Many nieces and nephews round out the family Michael was in the U.S Army, stationed in Europe during World War II. He was a receipient of the Purple Heart, being wounded in Germany. Michael was never shy about belting out a song. He kept the aisles in Shop Rite always in tune for many years! May he join that heavenly choir in the sky! At Michael's request, there will be no viewing. He wishes to be remembered as he lived.  After cremation, entombment and a graveside service will be held at a later date. He leaves his family and friends with a "Song in my Heart".
