Robert Arthur Ballard, Sr

Born in Worcester, MA to parents William Ballard, Jr and Dorothea (Arthur) Ballard.  Mr. Ballard was a methods engineer for Plessey Dynamics (formerly General Brass) in Hillside, NJ for more than 40 years until his retirement in 1993.  He was married to the late Clare Cirillo on September 23, 1950 until her death in 1992. He was married to Janet Hanichak in 1993 with whom he enjoyed traveling around the world over the past 25 years.  Mr. Ballard was a member of the West Runyon Athletic Club, was an avid bowler and enjoyed competing on the team with his work buddies. He will be remembered most for his timely wit and endearing charm.  

 

His children Brenda, twins Robert Jr (Maura) and William (Ann), Kim Hanichak, Paige Hanichak and Heather Paparo (Joseph) were the apples of his eye.  His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Meredith Alvarez (Eric), Brian, Robert III, Daniel, Sophia and Samantha.  When Mr. Ballard wasn’t spending time with family he loved tinkering with his cars and watching his beloved NY football Giants and NY Yankees baseball, especially his favorite player, the great Mickey Mantle.  A private burial will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
