Obituary of Donna E Michel

Donna Michel, (73) of Manahawkin, NJ passed away peacefully, Sunday April 7th, surrounded by her family and friends.
Donna was born in Newark, NJ.  After graduating from Irvington High School, she continued her education at Beth Israel Medical Center, where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1967.  She began her Nursing career at Community Medical Center where she worked as a labor/delivery nurse for several years, she then went on to work for Memorial Hospital Burlington County (Virtua) and Southern Ocean County Hospital where she worked as an Emergency Room Nurse.

After her retirement in 1994, Donna became an advocate for all animals large and small. She rehabilitated all types of animals at her home until they were ready to be released back into the wild.   She was also a transport driver for Animal Rescue.

Donna is survived by her husband John Michel, her son Stephen A. Sheldon, daughter Elizabeth Michel, Four grandchildren, Danielle Sands, Stephen Sheldon, Jr., Daniel Sheldon, Sean Farrell and two beautiful great-grandchildren, Kourtney and Kyle, predeceased by her beloved daughter Janet Sheldon and many incredible friends.

Donna, Mom, Mommom, Mrs. M., however you knew her, it didn’t matter, she was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She was nothing short of Amazing in every sense of the word and will be missed beyond words.   

There will be a private ceremony for Donna on Wednesday April 17th at B.G William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
