John Daniel Michel, (68), of Manahawkin, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday April 19, 2019. John was born on September 23, 1950 and was a lifelong resident in Manahawkin. After graduating from Southern Regional High School in 1968 and a brief stint working within his family business, he was employed by Stafford Township Public Works from 1977-2003. He was also a long standing member of the Stafford Township Fire Department.

John was a kind, caring, quiet man who enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and going for long rides. He was an active member of the Moose Lodge and had an excellent shot at the pool table.

John is predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Donna E. Michel and their daughter Janet L. Sheldon. He is survived by his two children, son, Stephen A. Sheldon and daughter, Elizabeth T. Michel. Grandchildren, Danielle Sands, Stephen Sheldon Jr., Daniel Sheldon and Sean Farrell and two great-grandchildren Kyle and Kourtney.

John will be laid to rest at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery. Services will be private.
