Obituary of Eleanor Rose Knichel

 

It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor Rose Knichel (Venturini) announces her passing on October 3, 2019, at the age of 89 years. Eleanor will long be remembered for her love of family, love of all animals including Misty, Acorn, Muffin, Zip & Chewy, her kindness and generosity and passion for Italian cooking. She was a homemaker for most of her life.

Born in River Edge, New Jersey, she was predeceased by her parents, Luigi (Louis) Venturini (born in Chieti, Italy) and Genevieve (Jennie) Venturini. She later moved to Paramus, New Jersey and graduated from Ridgewood High School. She lived, and raised her family, in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Eleanor's siblings John Venturini, Ralph Venturini and his wife Elizabeth, and Joseph Venturini predeceased her.

Eleanor was a devoted mother to her daughter, Janine Eleanor Piscadlo (Son-in-Law Bruce Piscadlo and Predeceased Son-in-Law Patrick Black, Sr.) and her son, Raymond Edward Knichel, who predeceased her in 1975 at the age of 18. Eleanor's pride and joy was her grandson, Patrick Black Jr. and they shared countless hours together laughing, joking around, watching wrestling and the Yankees.

Eleanor was proud of her three nephews, Ralph Venturini and wife, Elisa Venturini, Michael Venturini, Joseph Venturini and wife Helen, and her great nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Olivia, Lauren, Emily, Sophia, Peter and John.

A celebration of her life will be private for family.
