Christopher Alley

Obituary of Christopher J Alley

Christopher Joseph Alley, 53 of Wall Township New Jersey passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore University Medical Center on October 23, 2019 surrounded by his loving and supportive family.

Chris was born in Neptune New Jersey to Dianne M. Alley (Domalewski) and Joseph N. Alley.  Chris went to High School at Toms River High School South and graduated in 1984.

Chris defied the odds since his birth in 1966, during a time when resources were limited for those born with Spina Bifida.  This did not define who he was as a person though.  Chris truly lived his life doing what most people with Spina Bifida would only dream of doing, with strong will and the support of his loving parents.  Chris drove a car with custom hand controls, played wheelchair basketball, swam in the ocean, rode a custom bicycle made especially for him, went to concerts and shows and worked at a job that he truly loved.

Chris participated in the Special Olympics for shot put.  When Chris was well, he could be found behind a microphone singing karaoke at local pubs with his best buddy Dion.  Chris was very proud of his position of security at Lakewood Blue Claws.  He enjoyed the games and while working there he found a new passion for baseball and all the good energy that came with a good game.  Chris was an avid reader, a huge football fan and he loved wrestling.

Chris is survived by his mother Dianne Alley of Manahawkin, his sister Dana O’Donnell and her husband Ken O’Donnell of Manahawkin, his brother Jason Alley and his wife Dawn Alley of Forked River; His Uncle Bruce and Aunt Christine Domalewski of Aberdeen; His Uncle Ronald and Aunt Elaine Domalewski of Virginia Beach, VA; His niece Joelle O’Donnell of Manahawkin, his cousins Cheryl and David Isbitski (and Lauren and Ava) of Pennsylvania, Neil And Lisa Domalewski (and Patrick and Colby) of Pennsylvania, Christopher and Michael Domalewski of Aberdeen, Lisa and Jonathan Jump (and Jaxson and Riley), and Johnathan Domalewski of Virginia Beach, VA, and many loving friends.

He is predeceased in death by his father Joseph N. Alley; by his maternal grandparents Marilyn Domalewski, Stanley Domalewski, and paternal grandparents Miles Alley and Marie Alley.  He is also predeceased by his lifelong best friend Dion Hines.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to CareOne of Jackson and Wall Township, to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and to all the caregivers who loved and cared for Chris.

There will be a private celebration of Christophers life for family and close friends.
