Joseph E. Frasco of Toms River, formerly of Haverstraw, New York, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2019. He was 93 years old. Joe was born in Haverstraw, NY to the late Angelo and Jennie (Gerace) Frasco on August 18, 1926. He was a graduate of St. Peters School and Haverstraw High School. While still in high school during World War II, Joe was drafted into the US Army and served in Korea. On September 23, 1950 he married Ann B. Ronan of Jersey City. Joe was employed as a Family Housing Officer at the West Point Military Academy. After retirement from West Point, Joe worked for five years in the kitchen of CIBA Geigy in Suffern, where he became famous for preparing delicious soups. In 1985, he and Ann moved to Toms River, NJ.


Joe is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ann (Ronan) Frasco, his children, Barbara (John Joe) O’Donnell, Brian (Karen White), Mark (Leda Cook) and Chris (Kathy Gallagher).  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kirsten O’Donnell Elwood (Tom), Michael (Tinia), Jenny Wallace (Chris), Paul and Mark D. (Melinda) Frasco and Joseph, Jonathan and Kate Frasco; eight great grandchildren, Brendan T. Elwood,  Breeley, Nathan, Noah, and Jaxson Frasco, Ryder Wallace, Giuliana and Mark A. Frasco as well as two brothers, Sammy and Robert (Marie), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his sister, Pauline Costanza (Thomas), and brothers, Julie (Margaret), Angelo (Clare), Johnny, Dominic (Perry), Pepino, Gus (Gloria), and Gene (Patty).


In accordance with Joe’s wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Cremation was handled by Ocean County Cremation Service and burial will take place at the BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.


The family would like to thank the staff of Complete Care at Holiday City Nursing Home as well as Caring Hospice Services, whose compassion, care and friendship helped ease Joe’s final days.
