Please share a memory of Emilyann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Emilyann, or just Emily to her family and friends was born in Passaic, NJ on September 29th, 1988. She passed away with her parents by her side on April 26th, 2020. She was 31 years of age. Emily spent her early years in Lyndhurst, NJ, where she attended both grammar and high school, graduating from Lyndhurst High School in 2007. She also established a residency in Paterson, NJ before moving into her parent’s home in Toms River, NJ. To say that Emily was a beacon in the darkness would not be doing her justice. She was the light of the lives of so many with her relentless energy and unwavering support to family or friends in need. The number of lives she touched was dubious that became apparent after her passing when the outpouring of love, grief, tears and condolences overwhelmed her family with endless gratitude. For those whom loved her through all her trials and tribulations, Emily was one to be admired for her ability to survive and perservere during the most difficult times. She proved over and over again she was a warrior, a fighter even against the most overshadowing situations. Her greatest joy, by far, was being with her family and a few true friends, particularly in the last year of her life. It brought smiles to her beautiful face and joy to her heart with every anticipation of spending time with her siblings, nieces and nephews. Emily is survived by her parents Richard and Patricia Cook of Toms River, NJ, a daughter, Makenna Rose Duarte, and Makenna’s family: Kristin and Harold Duarte and their daughter Myla, of Clifton, NJ. A brother Evan Cook and his fiance Olivia, along with her niece, Ava and nephew Daniel of Vernon, NJ, a sister Mallory Ioffredo, her husband Frank and a niece Stella of North Arlington, NJ.Also a brother Matthew Cook, his wife Stefanie and a nephew Jackson of Wallington, NJ. She leaves behind a few select friends that were very important to her. Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, a private memorial service will be held and attended to by her immediate family.
