Obituary of Shirley Ann Greiner

Shirley Ann Greiner – Went home to our Savior’s arms on May 21, 2020 at the age of 87. She was born in Methuen, MA on November 23, 1932 and spent most of her life in Kissimmee and St. Cloud, Florida. She lived the last four years in Toms River, NJ. She is predeceased by her mother Diana M. Clifford (McElhaney), step-father Jack A. Clifford Jr., grandson John Sidney Wiley, and her sister Arlene McElhaney. She is survived by her three sons John Wiley 66 of Philadelphia Pa, Michael Wiley 64 of Haines City, Fl., and David Greiner 52 and his wife Rita of Toms River, NJ., her grandchildren Deanna Rodriguez and husband Mike of Lindenwold, NJ, Paula Rodriguez and husband Carlos of Orlando, FL, Chris Wiley of Haines City, FL, Joshua Greiner, Rachel Greiner and Kristina Greiner of Toms River, NJ and a great-grandson Max Rodriguez of Orlando, FL. During the 50s and 60s she was a master cosmetologist, florist and home maker; however, in the early 70s she started a new career as a Nursing Home Activities Director. This work became her life’s passion and she loved always making arts and crafts with residents and kids as well. She was very active in scouting and loved being a den mother in the Central Florida Council. She sang both in church and as a member of the Osceola County Choral Society. She taught CCD at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee, and St. Thomas Aquinas in St. Cloud for many years. She put herself through college and finally earned her BS degree in Health Services Administration from Barry University in 2010. She loved to host the holidays with all her family gathered together. She lived to help her family and took a special interest in her grandkids. She enjoyed teaching them how to make clothes, costumes, cooking, and baking on the weekends. She loved square dancing with the Wagon Wheel s and Kissimmee Squares groups and helped her granddaughters in clogging. She will be laid to rest at the Risen Christ Mausoleum in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River, NJ. Donations in-lieu of flowers can be made on her behalf to the Catholic Charities or Salvation Army.
