Obituary of Richard E Smith, Jr.

Richard E. Smith, Jr. Was called to Our Maker on June 1, 2020. He was born in Trenton, N.J. to Bridget & Richard Smith, Sr.. He moved to the Jersey Shore in 1981, where he resided with his wife & children, until his passing. He Honorably served His Country for thirty one years in the Air Force National Guard & the Department of Defense.. He retired proudly in 2008 as a Chief in the 108th Air Refueling Wing. After retiring his greatest love was Coaching his Son, AJ, in baseball. He was active in Berkeley Little League for many years and many competitive teams. He enjoyed keeping score & stats for all the games. He is survived by his loving wife, soul mate, friend, Patti Kelly Smith, His 3 Sons, AJ, Tim & his wife Ruthie, Christopher and his fiancee' Heather. Seven grandchildren, Daneeca, Stephen, Mateo, Cameron, Diego, Santos & Marcos. As well as two great grandchildren, Talan & KJ. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St.Jude Children's Hospital. Cremation will be by Ocean County Cremation Service, Forked River, N.J. He will be laid to rest with those who serviced our country. Burial will be held at Brigadier General William Doyle Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J. A memorial service will follow at a later date.
