Patrick Vincent Robert Francis Murphy ended his battle with cancer at the Hackensack Meridian Health Hospice peacefully on Thursday, 7/9/2020 at the age of 79. Born in the Borough of Manhattan New York 7/12/1940 to his mother Mary Helen Poos and father Vincent Lawrence Murphy. Patrick served in the Army stationed at Fort Benning GA from 10/22/1963 – 10/22/1965. 13 months were spent in Korea earning a specialty in nuclear weapons and expert with the M-14 rifle. Patrick is predeceased by his loving wife, Deborah (Debi) I. Kuhlthau of 54 years and Niece, Rachel Swan. He is lovingly remembered by his Son: Thomas P. Murphy, Daughter In-law: Nanci Michelle Murphy. Daughter: Kelly C. Cochran, Son in-law: Kevin J. Cochran. Grandchildren: Kaitlin C. Cochran and Patrick H. Cochran. Sister: Mary Yuhas, Brother In-law: Richard Yuhas. Sister: Kathleen (Kathy) Czernikowski, Brother In-law: Daniel (Chuck) Czernikowski. Brother: John Murphy, Sister In-law: Katherine (Kathy) Murphy. Sister: Ann Marie Huen, Brother In-Law: Craig (Red) Huen. Brother In-Law: John Kuhlthau. Nieces: Cheryl Kuhlthau, Laura Yuhas, Carrie Johnson, Alexandra Murphy and Charlotte Murphy. Nephews: John Kuhlthau, Rich Yuhas, Derek Czernikowski, Sean Murphy, Christopher Lanfare and James Lanfare. 7 Great Nieces & 6 Great Nephews. Patrick retired from DuPont in Sayreville NJ after 31 years of service. Relocated to Manahawkin NJ in 1994. Worked for several years part-time at Tuckerton Lumber in Surf City Long Beach Island then drove school buses for many school districts within Ocean County until he was 75. Patrick enjoyed talking to many people he would meet just about anywhere as long as he could make them smile or laugh. He was amazing with small children. We was kind and helpful. He really enjoyed working on his gardens and spent countless hours with his “loved ones” in the basement, his trains. He was a HUGE Model Railroad enthusiast.
