Obituary of Donald M Ramirez

Donald M. Ramirez of Jackson NJ went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday November 25th 2020. Don was born in New Brunswick NJ on March 30th 1937 to Hernando and Blanche Ramirez. After completing his education at New Brunswick High school, he enlisted in the Navy where he served his country as a 2nd class Petty Officer Machinist Mate on board the USS Harlan R. Dickson(DD708) from 1956-1959. His best memories were of his “Navy days “ and he was always eager to share. The highlight of his Navy career, was between July 2nd and December 4th 1956, when the USS Harlan R. Dickson and crew were instrumental in evacuating American citizens from Haifa Israel as war threatened between Israel and Egypt . Don was happiest knowing that he would spend eternity with his Savior. He gave his life to Jesus Christ more than 40 years ago and was a humble servant. He served in the nursing home, prison and children’s ministries. Never wavering in his Christian faith, could always be found in deep conversations about Jesus Christ. He was a successful salesman, loving, kind, considerate, who owned and operated the Donrite Company. Don enjoyed Caribbean cruises, dancing, going to estate sales, football, watching documentaries and movies on war. He leaves fond memories in the heart of his beloved wife Susan. Don is also survived by his brother Jack (Martha), stepson Michael Mounter, life-long friends Edward and Christine Conover, Mark and Lynda Gniewyk and his in-laws, Whitfield and Barbara Morris, Sandra Mounter, Sharon Lorenzi(Tom), Raymond Mounter(Wendy), Harriet Dowridge, Gregory Mounter, Gale Morris and Lennox Turney. A memorial service will take place at Faith Baptist Church 1528 Rt 9, Toms River NJ 08755 on Friday December 11, at 1:00 pm.
