Obituary of Charles Stanley Boud

Charles Stanley Boud, age 70, of Beachwood passed away on September 9, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend and was devoted to his loving family and friends. A lifelong resident of Beachwood, Charles was born in Lakewood to H. Wallace and Mary (Spellman) Boud. He was a graduate of Toms River High School and attended Montclair State College where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Delta fraternity. Although called to serve his country during the Vietnam War, he was unable to serve due to a hearing deficit which troubled him his entire life. Charles had a long career as a land surveyor, working for several Monmouth and Ocean county engineering firms before spending the past 20 years with great friends Frank Dolan and Bill Endriss of Dolan-Endriss Associates in Forked River, NJ. He was also an avid outdoorsman and photographer and had photographs published in a number of nature publications. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie (Leonard) Boud of Beachwood; daughter Bridgette (Boud) Moore and her husband Thomas of Cranford; son Christopher Boud of Beachwood; brother Dwight Boud and his wife Jane of Barnegat; sister Mary Boud of Cheyenne, WY; sister-in-law Lorelei Hummel of Corpus Christi, TX; sister-in-law Pamela Voigt and her husband Thomas of Littleton, CO; two grandchildren, Molly and Nicholas Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Research Institute, www.cancerresearch.org.
