Obituary of Carol Ann Glassen

Just before sunrise on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, Carol Ann Glassen, age 77, peacefully passed away at home. She was surrounded by and had comfort from her 3 children, and many family and friends, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Carol was born on Oct 20, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington to Olga (Toma) Messner and Leonard Messner. She lived in Union NJ for 28 years, she then married John Glassen and gave birth to 2 children while living in Union...she then moved to Toms River, NJ and gave birth to her 3rd child. Carol and Jack did divorce while living in Toms River but always remained close afterwards. Carol worked as a legal secretary and Office Manager for Robert A Olkowitz for 25 years. Carol always enjoyed having her “tea time” with her best friend Linda, cousin Barbara and family. She loved to cook, do puzzles, spend time at the beach, dine out with family and friends and walk the boardwalk. She also loved animals, especially her cat “Minxie” as she liked to call her. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Len and Olga Messner and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Ann Glassen, her son, John Edward Glassen Jr and daughter in law Arlana Stefanko and her son Leonard Scott Glassen and daughter in law, Amy Glassen. Her brother, Leonard Messner Jr. And wife, Linda Messner and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
