Wills’ son Cliff is my brother in law. Often Will would come over my home on holidays with Herb. He was always pleasant to talk to. Will to me was ever kids Dad. A Gentle Giant of a Man with a wealth of knowledge that he was always willing to share. He loved his family, boats and his dogs. Just a great guy.
The memory I have may not stand out to most people but I would like to share it. Will, Cliff and I were walking around the yard of my home like most men do. Looking at trees and grass etc. Talking about what trees to cut down and what trees to trim and how to treat the grass. Just generations of men sharing knowledge and opinions. I mentioned that I was going to try and grow grass in a shaded area amongst some trees and Will said “Don’t waste your time. You will never grow grass there successfully “. I remember thinking “What does he know? I will show him!” He knew what most guys dads knew. Much more than I. He gave me free knowledge that I refused to listen to. Still don’t have grass there but I finally took his advice. Think I will plant a rock garden instead in honor of Wilbur W H Lahann.

Willy was our neighbor for many years and he will be missed by oh so many . I had the pleasure of becoming friends with him over the years. He sure loved his dogs and driving around , running errands with them . He always had such an amazing garden and thoroughly enjoyed sharing the wealth with the neighborhood . He would give you the clothes off of his back , in the blink of an eye. He will be terribly missed and our family will be forever grateful for the memories we have of our pal Willy . Rest in Paradise Willy .

"Willie" was a family man with a heart as big as NJ. Mr Lahann was always very good to me, I spent many a weekend at his home with my dear old friend Linda Lahann Ronan. He might not have known it, but he & Mrs Lahann helped me to get thru a hard time in my life. And for that, I Thank you and will Love you always.
